There are two main hiking trails here. The Lakeside Trail is about 7.5 miles long and circumnavigates the lake. Cook's Trail is a 4 mile hike between Sandy Creek Park and Sandy Creek Nature Center. NOTE: A portion of this trail is closed long-term (but not permanently) for boardwalk replacement, and you cannot (as of January 2017) walk between the park and nature center. There is also a 4-mile (each way) horse trail.
