Lookout Mountain: Point Park to Sunset Rock

Point Park, Lookout Mountain
November 09, 2018 by Shawn Taylor in parks
Note: This location is considered a day trip from Atlanta. It is in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

From Point Park, follow the signs to the Ochs Memorial Museum. After about 4/10 of a mile, you will reach the museum. There is no additional cost associated with the museum. From there, follow the signs to the Bluff Trail. After about an additional mile and a half on the Bluff Trail, you can follow the signs to Sunset Rock, which will take you to an overlook and a parking lot. From here, you can either return to Point Park via W Brow Road (about a mile), or hike back the way you came.

Much of the trail surface is rocky, so it can be slow going. Some spots are also muddy. There are also some stairs - both rock stairs and metal & wood stairs.
