Note: This location is considered a day trip from Atlanta. It is in Opelika, Alabama.

This City of Opelika former waste water lagoon has become a wildlife preserve. It is maintained by Friends of the Opelika Wood Duck Heritage Preservation and Siddique Nature Park. The preserve is one of the locations featured in the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail.

Note: This location is considered a day trip from Atlanta. It is in Auburn, Alabama.

Swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking are allowed at the lake. Most of the trails are combination mountain bike and hiking trails. Hiking is allowed on all trails.
