In 2004, the Glenn Creek Nature Preserve Alliance raised over $65,000 to facilitate the purchase of this property from the owner, who wanted it to become a nature preserve. $90,000 was added from the Georgia Community Greenspace Funds, and the property was purchased by the City of Decatur in December 2004.
